Depressing indeed. You said you had like a 2.80 GPA (say, on average), but whats your DAT like?

well my sgpa yea bout a 2.8, DAT 18, real bummer is my gpa for the pre-req's is like a 3.8 but who cares

Wow! What school???

sgpa 2.8 but prereq 3.8? so did you take upper div bios and do bad on them? What's your major?

I am a non-trad learner. I went to college like 15 years ago, I was a business major,I didnt care how I did on science courses or if I had to repeat them. Now 15 years later I take bio/chem/o-chem/calc based physics/A&P running about 3.8 but when avg'd with my grades from over a decade ago...its a hot mess. I know its not the d-schools problem and I dont blame them for anything. They've got 1000+ applications to look at that already meet the criteria with no issues so mine can get tossed away without thinking twice. I just hope someone somewhere sees whats going on in my app and is willing to consider it.

Gotta admire your persistence! Sounds like someone took notice. Study up for that interview and you could be good to go!!

Soooooooooooooo any 9th batch interview invites yet? Let me know so I can get jealous and nervous due to the silence on my aadsas app.

Allright, here is the latest and no surprise: 4 rejections so far, Midwestern AZ & IL, and today Nova...did see a few more schools pop up in aadsas saying they have app and under review so now 9 of 20 showing in aadsas. And now Loma Linda gave the big K.O., 16 more to go

Nothing from anywhere, aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh. I think this month is when there will be some news. Still got to hear back from 16 schools. I applied to 20 and only half even showed up in aadsas. Going to get the mail each day is getting more and more stressfull, dreading to see if there is another letter and yet another diminished chance of making it this cycle.

Well I think its all bout to hit the fan this month

So the updated rejection list: Midwestern az & il, lecom, loma Linda, Marquette & nova

Well no surprise to the top gun elite on sdn but no interviews and 11 rejections so far. I am assuming at this point the other 9 schools with no response, are just being polite and will be sending their rejections in a few months. I was surprised at getting absolutely no interest from any schools but it is a competitive field and obviously based on my results, my profile can't compete...that said I will throw my hat into the ring again next cycle which is only 6 months away. Bummer not to have done it this time but third times the charm. Hope I am not completely insane for trying a third time but I can't help myself...dentistry or bust

Is there a reason you applied so late?

My application had to wait for summer grades to post...or my gpa would not have met the minimum for th sgpa

What you need to do next time is get a hold of the dean of admissions from some of these schools and talk to them. Depending on what state, see if you can get academic forgiveness; I know in Texas after ten years they give it to you; you start fresh. I don't know what state you're in.

I would contact some deans and get them to look at your application directly. I know a few people who did that and got some interviews.

I will try just about anything at this point, thanks!

Maybe do a retake. An 18 is a point lower than the avg score for students that get accepted.

Getting a higher DAT score is the fastest way to boost the strength of your application.

I have a sub 3.0 science GPA and I put a lot of effort into the DAT to get a good score. I'm applying this June.

I agree. I think you should aim for a 21++

I agree with ryansgs. Restudy the DAT and get above 20s AA and TS.

Nontraditional student here. 75 postbac credits with 3.8. Applying this cycle and hope for the best.
