this semester is my 2nd semester at a university(I transferred from cc). My first semester I had a W on an elective because it turned out that I didn't need it for my degree(my counselor told me late). This semester im thinking of dropping genetics because realistically it won't be possible for me to get an A. Maybe even a B at best. What should I do? I came from cc with straight 4.0 and 60 credits with no W. Also my 1st semester at uni was a 4.0 ( I took biochemistry and cellbio)

It won't look bad. In fact, now that I think about it, I have 2 W's. Technically 3 because the lab and lecture for one of the courses were separate. If I were you I would take the W only if you won't be able to get between a B to A. Take the W, work on your study habits or whatever was holding you back, give it another go later on. W does not hurt your gpa while a C would.

This type of question has been answered a lot before, if you try the search function you should be able to find some more helpful insight.
