Hi all, this has bothering me for some time and I don't know why I didn't ask anyone about it. (so stupid...) I was in graduate school, and for the first semester I got GPA below 3.0, and I was put on an academic probation. The following semester, I got 3.6, so that brought the cumGPA up so the probation was lifted.

As you all know on AADSAS there was a question regarding whether or not the applicant has ever being put on a probation. For this question I said "yes" and gave my explanation. However, for some of the secondary applications, for this question "Have you ever been subject to sanction or discipline by any academic institution?" I put "no". The thing is, on "Additional Information/Comment" I put a paragraph on my story about the academic probation.

Right now I am just freaking out about it. I am a confused with the question above. Are the question asked in AADSAS and the question asked in the secondary application that same question, which ask for the same answer?

Maybe I should call the schools and told them about this confusion. Please let me know what you think! Thank you!

The same thing happened to me (low gpa one quarter, "academic probation" showed up on my grades/transcript). I never actually received a letter from the school or any explanation of what academic probation meant, however. My grades improved the next quarter and academic probation no longer showed up on my transcript.

I answered yes to both the question on AADSAS and the question in the secondary and then explained what happened. I'm sure if you explained why you put no (but also were candid about the fact that you were put on academic probation) you should be fine...

Thanks! I think I will give the school a call once they received my secondary.
