So i've sent in my letters of rec to aadsas, only 2 of which were from science professors. However, as we all know, columbia needs letters from 3 science professors.

No problem I thought...i'll just have my school's LOR handling service send the third science professor's letter directly to columbia instead of to aadsas.

And then I read this on Columbia's website:

Three CONFIDENTIAL letters of recommendation from science professors or one composite letter from a pre-health committee. Additional letters of recommendation from employers or non-science professors will be accepted, but will not satisfy the requirement. Official letters of recommendation are only sent directly to the AADSAS application service.

Has anyone sent in their letters directly to columbia in the past, or do they all have to go through aadsas?

I have the same problem. Since AADSAS is only allowing 4 letters of rec this year, I have to send the 3rd letter from a science professor directly to Columbia since most schools require 2 letters from science professors, and 1 from either a non-science professor or a dentist. I don't know if this will be a problem, but that's my only option considering the restriction by AADSAS.

I had the same problem as well and called Columbia. The person I spoke to said they were flexible if you only had two science letters of rec. So I asked him if I should send a third letter directly to the school and he said that would be a good idea, so that is what I am doing. Hope this helps.

Columbia could probably care less about your LORs as long as you have an AA of 22+ and a pulse... jb!🙂

thanks for clearifying
i was wondering about the same thing too

I only have two sci LOR and one from a dentist.
I was planning on calling them after they have my application to see if they will allow only 2 sci LOR since i've been out of school for 2+ years.

😆

I can see you're already starting to get the hang of the NYU thing. Good luck with school.

thanks for your input guys...i guess i'll just wait and see if they call me on it, and if so i'll have the LOR service overnight the last one to them
