How badly would a C in an upper division class hurt? (Mammalian Physiology). Would the mere fact that it's a C be more damaging than the fact that its a 2.0, in essence being worse than getting 2 B's?
Also as a side note, would having a letter of rec from the professor i got the C kind of alleviate the damage that the C caused in the first place? I've had this professor 5 times, (no i didnt fail 4 times!) and in 2 of the other classes that he taught (Mammphys II and Endocrinology) I recieved A's. The other 2 classes i was a TA for him (Mammphys II and Human Phys).
I guess what i meant by that is: does the fact that even after i got my C, ive taken a load of classes with this same professor and done extremeley well make up for the fact that i kinda f*cked up and got that C to begin with? Or do med schools not even see/care if you had the same teacher 5 times in a row (i imagine they probably wouldnt, but hey who knows 😛).
This C has been a huge dent in my GPA, brining me from well above a 3.7 to slightly below 3.7 and it pains me every time i think about it.
My MCAT scores are alright... i havent taken the real thing yet but ive been consistently scoring in the 37-40 range on the AAMCs
