That my friends is why the MCAT exists. GPA is a pretty lousy measure of learning and problem solving skills that are crucial at the next level. GPA can be affected by how much you work, involvement with something other than a staring at a textbook, the professor, and even getting a bad test form on a final, illness, and etc. The MCAT is the measuring stick which can be applied to all.
I don't even want to hear that 'I'm a bad test taker crap but I have a high GPA' crap because you didn't get your inflated GPA by sloughing off on tests. Likely is it that you have awesome memorization skills and can puke back up the molecular weight of dung beetle crap to your professor on his exam but have poor problem solving skills. And I better not see the 'Well standardized tests are biased' stuff either. Yeah they are biased, but the bias is aganst stupid people.
