Yellow ribbon doesnt matter if you are going to in-state public school, it will be 100% paid for no matter what.

There is also a limit on the number of students that the yellow ribbon covers. Finally, the yellow ribbon will not pay your tuition in full in some states, so watch out for that.

Just a heads up.

i already looked it up the gibill gov web site and few schools offer either over 10k per year for decent amount of number of students or even unlimited. thx for heads up though. out of state tuition shouldnt be covered 100% by post 911 if it costs more than 19k i believe. if not please corred me.

It was 17k as of the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. I didn't realize you could not be a spouse or be receiving less than 100% Gi Bill benefits to be eligible for the yellow ribbon program.

Personally, I would just go to an in-state public school if at all possible.....especially if your spouse is still in the military, you should be able to get in state tuition no matter where you are stationed.

Yeah, I dont know what I would do if I had to take out loans. The monthly stipend, my internship monies, and my wife's income makes monetary problems almost a moot point for the time being. I am more than thankful for that, so I do what I can for my classmates (buying lunch, watching their kids, buying their textbooks).

Does that mean you can take me on a lunch date when I get back from chicago? :meanie:

I leave next week (18th), not back til August 1st! I'll bring you a souvenir 😀

I love Chicago! I lived there for almost a year during the military. You should hit up a bar called Howl at the Moon! It was pretty great.
