I am considering doing an additional semester of undergrad to do a total of 4.5 years. I would apply asap during the summer after my 4th year. Would I get my interviews/admissions/decisions all taken care of before the end of my final semester? I am planning on traveling after I graduate before going to dental school.

Does anyone have any experience with what I am planning to do (4.5 years of undergrad) and have any advice? I am doing this because I was not sure that I wanted to do dentistry coming into college, and I will not have my second semester of gen chem until junior year. Summer after junior year I will study May, June, July and take it sometime late-July to early-August. If I were to apply that summer, Icould not apply very early, decreasing my chances of admission.

If everything goes smoothly, you will get interviews during your final fall semester and decisions from schools in December. However, you might get some interview offers after you graduate.

If I apply almost immediately after the application becomes available.. will most of my interviews be early during my fall semester?
