Hello SDN,

When do you believe is a good time to start the PharmCAS application process. I am going to try for rolling admission and take the PCAT in August.

When do you believe is a good time to start on the personal statement and submit?

Also, how do we submit the application to PharmCAS? I know its online, but the question is do we get the GPA request in from our school, and the LOR requests in and THEN send the application or what is the process... still a little shady on the topic.

Please answer kindly. Thanks in advance!

Start your PharmCAS as early as possible. It can be verrrrry time consuming. You have to enter each individual course you took, your grade, and additional course info one at a time. Once you start the app, you can save it and continue later on. You have to get your college to send an official transcript to PharmCAS, as well as have PCAT scores sent directly to them when you take it. LOR's are done electronically for PharmCAS. You'll have access to that once you start your app. You'll just type in your teacher/pharmacist's email address in the PharmCAS form, and they will email your recommender instructions. Bottom line, start it now. You never know what kind of difficulties you will run into later. Teachers are very busy people, and it can be difficult to get something from them if you give them a short deadline. PharmCAS is all done electronically. Once you are satisfied with your application, you just hit the complete app/submit app button or something by your schools' deadlines. They will send it to whichever schools you select. The only thing that has to be mailed to PharmCAS is your transcript if I remember correctly. Also, some schools have supplemental applications that must be mailed to the school itself and not PharmCAS. Make sure you keep track of deadlines. I think there's a way to sort schools by deadlines on PharmCAS somewhere. If the school has rolling admissions, the earlier you submit your completed app, the higher the chance that you'll get accepted.

Thanks.

So, could I get my official transcript request sent by my school now and my personal statement started now and finished before my PCAT.... but submit the application in October?

What do I do if my PCAT is really bad this time around? It's my first time submitting it to PharmCAS but second time taking it.
