72 yo male for IM rod hip. Transport brings him to the recovery room for pre-op visit. I go to see him and he has a BKA. So I assume that he broke the other hip (I don't know why). He actually broke the hip on his BKA side when he fell off his prosthesis. I just found it sort of funny, not funny that he broke his hip, just that I assumed it was the other hip. How many of you have seen this before.

just google it to see the images.

Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) is a syndrome of multiple congenital anomalies characterized by a distinctive facial appearance, prenatal and postnatal growth deficiency, feeding difficulties, psychomotor delay, behavioral problems, and associated malformations that mainly involve the upper extremities.

A day of firsts, I guess: my first awake, nasal, fiberoptic intubation... And, no; never seen a broken hip on an amputated leg.
