Those are very low scores, unfortunately.

Should you forget about it? I have no idea...I don't know your situation or how desperate you are to leave Egypt. If you think you could have a comfortable life in Egypt and practice medicine, I think you should stay. To come to the US just to come to the US, if you are not in danger, your family is not in danger, or if you are not facing a situation where you could not find work in Egypt, to me, that's a risk I would not take. Plus, Egypt needs you, does it not?

there is a lot at stake in coming to the US...lots of hoops to jump through, and it could set you back a number of years. Furthermore, it's not the promised land it once was for international docs.

Do we still need IMGs? Of course, some areas are desperate for docs. Some residencies are desperate for residents...but I have to say the odds are against you even at those programs.

There is much more to this than your USMLE scores. Ultimately you have to decide if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks.

Good luck.

May be ... but egypt does not need me !!! They have 8000 doctors graduated every year ... nothing to guarantee they will be good doctors ... no official training program for any one . It is just like that ... they let us graduate ... they let us suffer ... Eventhough , I love my country , I am not planning to be in the US forever . All I want is a proper training chance . A chance to be a good doctor after spending seven years of my precious life in the faculty of medicine !!!

Thanks for your answer ... but still .... I don't get the advice ... Should I or should I not continue ?

I appreciate your words ... thank you

You will not get an advice. Questions like this have no absolute answers, espcially if you're an IMG.

It is like gambling or investment. You can spend all the money and time necessary to pass Steps 1, 2, and 3 and be eligible for the Match and yet end up with nothing.

It is not our position to tell you whether you should or should not try. Sometimes it is luck and sometimes it is who you know.

But you have to decide whether it is worthwhile to pursue this dream and journey. You may end up with everything you've ever dreamed of or you may end up with nothing.

I know people (IMGs) with lower scores than you and multiple attempts end up somewhere that no AMGs want to be. But it is not guaranteed.

Just my 0.02.

most definitely primary care has, and needs IMGs.. the system wouldn't survive without international graduates.. that being said, visa issues are often a significant hurdle, during and after residency.. however, there is a time, when you can finish residency, and obtain your H1 visa, and then you can practice anywhere.. its a journey.. but if your heart is set on it, no time like the present..
take step 3 to make yourself more competitive. Get some USCE.

yes, you should definitely go forward and take CS and Step 3, you can definitely improve on step 3 and hopefully easily get into Family Medicine.

FP never fills, how is it that people aren't getting interviews, even with very low scores.

Pass all the other exams i.e., step-2cs,step3 but only on your first attempts and get some USCE.I think your situation will improve a lot and you will definitely get into some community programs here in the US.

Remember,only first attempts!
Give up all frustration.
Good Luck.
