I'm an international medical student who's doing two elective rotations in NA (4 weeks in US and 4 weeks in Canada). I want to apply for the match cycle, but in 2026, not the current one.
I would ideally prefer to get some references written up now at the end of the rotations, while the attendings still remember me rather than wait until next year when applying and asking then. I was wondering how I would go about this, do I need to pay for the Oasis ERAS 2025 token now and then buy another one again in 2026, or how would I go about getting these sent in early to have them on file? Would the letters of reference/other supporting documentations remain in the system and rollover from year to year if I don't submit the application/or match?
Ideally, I would not want to pay twice, but it's probably better than asking for a reference sometime next year where the attendings I've worked have probably forgotten who I am.
