If you had the choice, would you rather work for a CEO who is also doing research or a Research Professor.

Has anyone been in a situation where they had an opportunity to work for a CEO of a medical school or anyone of high ranking? If so, what was it like and what did you do? Did you get a letter of recommendation from that person? In your opinion, what are the chances of someone of that high of power giving you a letter?

I'm sure people have but you will have to be more specific in what your opportunity is if you want good advice. The president of my university gave me a letter of rec. Sometimes you just have to be bold enough to ask.
