For recent graduates or ongoing researchers at the NIH Academy or PostBac Program I know it is important to get a good PI. Are there any standout stellar PIs? Any that I should avoid? I am particularly interested in clinical research related to neurology but any suggestions or information would be helpful.

Thanks.

LOL, what a broad question. you are gonna have to apply to a lot since its grant dependent

but look for someone on the national academy of sciences. I think they are allowed to send 2 manuscripts to PNAS directly without any review. Work with everyone in those labs and you are published in a pretty impressive journal (that sometimes have shotty articles)

Thanks, I have been looking at CVs and where PIs are published. But being very well known is different from being a good person to work with and have as a mentor. I am specifically interested in pediatric neurology or the NINDS pediatric sector. Also I am interested in neuropsychology. I was just hoping to find out if anyone had a stellar PI or mentor or if there was someone to avoid based on experience since looking at publications or CVs doesn't give information about the individual or how the lab works. Thanks.
