A little advice, please

So, a friend of mine's large group across town just hired a woman fresh from residency. She is very pleasant, quite spectacular in appearance and skilled enough to deal with our surgeons. Coinciding with her arrival, though, we have noticed a rather unusual occurrence: the bathrooms are trashed.

Initially, we heard about some bloody items being left in receptacles that were not meant to accomodate them. Today, there was a streak of feces across the floor, with a footprint heading out the door into the hallway from a bathroom this person was alleged to have been seen exiting.

How would you broach the topic?

People are willing to overlook a lot of pathology when you are 2SD above the mean in looks.

Start with a discreet but careful audit of her controlled substance use / documentation. This kind of stuff is what diverters who are losing control do.

A few moons ago, when I was stationed at Ft Stewart. we had somewhat similar incident at the Troop Medical Clinic, when a female type "GI Jane" wrote with feces on the walls of a co-ed latrine; expressing her overt anger after failing to obtain a profile exempting her from mandatory physical training (for those removed from the military). Cleaning personnel were puking when they were cleaning up the mess.
Lesson learned -- there is nothing like a woman's scorn.

Although I agree with the opinion of possible overt controlled substance use in case of the "hot" gas passing chick. Sometimes gas may come out contaminated with solid matter. Also, I will second recommendation for discrete controlled substance audit

I'm sure each of us has a story to corroborate that one!
 
Never forget other crazy women, with a careful "smear" campaign. But yeah watch the substances.
 
Yeah, hot women get away with a lot more b.s. than ugly ones. They shouldn't. But they do.

Good point. When a new chick shows up to challenge the established pecking order, it never fails that the other old fat hens start to gang up.
 
But they're so nice to look at...
This reminds me of the surgical PA resident program at one of the hospitals I trained at. All of them were beautiful women. Zero men or ugly women. IQ didn't matter. And, of course, most of them (if not all) got great jobs with private surgeons. 😉

I also see this mentality in many male anesthesia attendings during their midlife (crisis) years. Think about it next time you see a dumb good-looking anesthesia resident.

I'm sure they enjoyed working under them, and were satisfied and well compensated.

Reminds me of a CT physician assistant that was hired into a group. The rumors immediately started flying about who she was boffing. Of course she turned-up pregnant not that long thereafter.
 
Assuming there are no narcotic discrepancy issues, which is the operating premise here, how do you address egregious lack of hygiene?

As an aside, the last time she was at work there was a streak of lipstick on her teeth...

It's a simple matter but one is careful not run afoul of the dreaded political correctness.
 
I would just pull her aside, apologize just tell her that may be she missed it but there is a little bit of lipstick on her teeth or something to that extend. Just do it discretely and in non-offensive manner.
As far as other "issues" are concerned I would still look at illicit substance use. Leaving bloody objects and fecal smears is not normal
