I am stilling waiting to here from 4 schools: NYMC, Drexel, Temple, SLU. I don't know what that means, if my app is on hold or what? I have emailed them and they always say it is still under review. I guess I'll findout pretty quick what's going to happen. Anyways, unfortunately it is looking like I'm going to be a reapplicant next year. I applied to a Nuclear Medicine program in my home-state, it is a year program from July to July. Would it be a good idea to do that program and reapply? I have been taking science classes to increase my SGPA from a 3.4 to a 3.55 and I have been doing a lot more volunteering. Would Nuc Med be something that would give me an edge next year? I would appreciate any opinions thanks.

is that program something to become a radiology tech??
i don't see how that would help you much, especially if you are trying for the immediate next cycle. i think you are better off increasing your clinical activities(maybe even train for emt raher than nuclear medicine) and taking more science classes to increase your gpa.

btw, i haven't heard from nymc, temple, slu either, but at this point we should safely assume rejection. 🙁

Basically, but it is a little more specialized than an xray tech. The prereques are to be a certified radiology tech or have a BS or BA and have taken certain classes. Anyways, thanks for the advice. I don't have to decide for a little while. Do you know why these school don't give us a response? I have emailed them and they just say that my app. is still under review. I don't get it. Have you talked to them?
Good luck, thanks

they are probably just reeeeeeally slow in sending their rejection letters out. they don't care about us rejects, they need to woo all the acceptable candidates first. robert wood johnson lady told me over the phone i was rejected and the letter should be mailed out next week. this "next week" passed, then another whole month has passed, and still no official rejection letter. i am gearing up for this year's amcas submission and the august mcat.

good luck!

I take it you are from Georgia. Do Georgian medical schools look kindly on lowly out-of-stater from the west that only have one medical school in their state? Mercer, Morehouse, MCG, Emory do they accept very many out-of-staters?
