Ok, so I may not have had the most pleasant post in the past, but thinks have changed. Sobered up/ whatnot lol.

Ok.

I went to a community college for two years, then transfered and got my BA in Bio from a pretty prestigious uni.

Anyways, I took the DAT last summer and got Frapped? with the ethics passage. That sucked. I scored....

Percep 20
Quant 15
Reading 15
Bio 18
G Chem 16
O Chem 19
TS 18
AA 17

Applied to 9 schools, in December, and interview at my top choice, got waitlisted then didn't get in. So no I am in round two.

I procrastinated again, submited my app mid sept? somewhere around there, but anyways, I just took the DAT today.

I apparently got Pianoed. But I liked it.

This time around I scored...
Percep 18 -2
Quant 16 +1
Reading 20 +5
Bio 21 +3
G Chem 20 +4
O Chem 22 +3
TS 21 +3
AA 20 +3

Pretty good I think, last time I took the test I finished up and hopped on a plane to Europe for a month and a half. So I guess my mind was not right.

Either way, this test seemed much easier. So hope you get pianoed.
It may be hard if you dont speak english, but damn, I feel like someone handed me a key to dental school with this test.

How I studied..

Bio, I read cliffs AP bio once through, and used my undergraduate knowledge

G CHem, I reread chapters 1-19 of my Gen chem book, Chang. I really wanted to improve this section, and i did!

Organic- I was and still am a Orgo workshop leader, 3.5 years, so i didnt really study, I looked over the reactions in the back of every chapter. -Yolanda Bruce Organic chem

Percep ability, the orthographic projections were rediculous, and the angles were tough as hell, and the paper folding was rediculous, i never seen the folding patterns like they had in this test in CLIFFS DAT or KAPLAN, but I only looked at the old PAT from the ADA website, and scored a 21 on that, so this was much harder. I did get a 20 last time though, oh well.

Reading comp- I started a speed reading speed learning course, but i didnt finish it, lol. Just use earplugs and sound blocking headphones so you dont get distracted. Again, the ethics passage murdered me last time. Piano is much more fun.

Thanks SDN for giving me the heads up on the piano. Fo Sho!

Math... Thats not math, it was redic. I used Purplemath.com. Focus on the applied sections, if you could do those on command youll nail that section.

I started reading my g chem book in mid summer. That was about 95% of my studying, and it actually enhanced my understanding of ORGO. So that was a bonus.

MAKE SURE YOU RELAX!!! Dont get worked up. The day before the test I woke up after 6 hours, after not sleeping all night, dont expect to. Went to school, couldnt study, so I went and golfed nine holes, came home, fell asleep for 4 hours, woke up and studied for an hour, fell asleep, woke up at ten. My test was at 1:30pm. I looked over g chem extremely fast, 1/2 hour and then danced around to stevie B Spring love for about an hour (im not gay). lol

Also dont drink lots of coffee, you will piss your pants after the sciences. I had to leave 5 minutes early to piss between that and percep.

Either way, Bust you @$$ and study for a few weeks, and relax the day before, youll do great.

Again, thanks SDN and all you Pianoers.
Its now party time

I didnt buy crack the dat, destroyer, or any of those other scams. Didnt pay mr kaplan for the class, and still did well.

Good job, that's what I should've done instead of buying topscore, achiever, crack dat pat, destroyer. I barely used them...didn't have time to use them!

What did help was the kaplan subject tests and the princeton review hyperlearning just for the chem and orgo sections. Kaplan helped for practice questions in bio, chem, and orgo. Pat was useless though. Princeton review helped because I took my science pre-req's 4-5 yrs ago and sold all my textbooks cuz' I was a po' college student.

I barely studied (only about 3hrs/day for a month) because of other commitments and responsibilities and that's all I could manage to fit in. And I ended up with 18AA/18TS/18PAT. If I have to retake, I'll stick with practice questions since I now have a better core science foundation from reviewing last month. I'm sure that topscore, achiever, cdp, and destroyer would've given me a much higher score if I'd had time to go through them though.

Very sweet improvement, inspirational ... congrats and best of luck!
