Okay, here's the last of the questions I need to ask (for now.) I would have combined them if I could! But this is the final one, honestly. 😉

I would have so much preparation to do in terms of prerequisite classes and research experience that, truthfully, I think it would make more sense to get a master's in psych first in order to be prepared for the PhD program I want (in health psychology.) I already know that UNT allows up to 45 credits to be transferred in from an MA (seems like quite a lot; more than most other programs, I think.) All in all, I think it really might end up taking LESS extra time to just get a master's. Of course, it would have to be the right KIND of MA, and that's where all the wonderful, smart, helpful people on this board come in...

Who can recommend good MA programs for this purpose? They would have to be thesis programs with a good core curriculum. Is there any kind of list anywhere for psych MA's? (I haven't had a lot of luck in finding this, nor in finding a useful book published more recently than about 1997. Someone needs to write one!) All advice gratefully appreciated.

There is already a good thread on this. I bumped it up for you. 🙂

Bless your heart. 🙂 Now here's the part where everyone imparts their pearls of wisdom...
