This has been discussed extensively in both pre-allo and allo. OHSU likely took a chance on her because of her extensive nursing experience and supposedly fantastic LORs from the physicians she worked with. 9 out of 10 times this works out fine, as demonstrated by the number of students with low MCAT who matriculated and graduated from DO schools and successfully matched. This is unfortunately not so in her case.

No, I don't think she would have done better learning the same stuff + OMM at a DO school where she might have taken even more standardized exams.

How is this a question? DO school isn't inherently easier. Same goes for Ross and SGU. Medical school is the equalizer and she couldn't cut it.

Read the thread she posted in the Allo forum. There's more to the story than meets the eye. And no, the 24 MCAT isn't the cause of all her mess. And no, I dont' think she would have done any better tin a DO program, or any other med school, for that matter.

Would she have done better in a DO program? MCAT 24, somehow got admitted to OHSU, racked up $400K in student loan debt, failed to match multiple times. Was it her MCAT, or did she have the ability and she just did not try hard enough?

If she didn't do well on her boards but at least passed, she should have been smart and applied to some very unspectacular FM residencies somewhere. At least she would have gotten in somewhere (I assume due to the shortage of PCs), and she wouldn't have all this debt lingering. It sounds like she had no idea what she was doing by assuming she could still go into surgery with awful scores, etc.
