hello. i am an IMG from Pakistan. ma country hospitals' basically doesn't offer electives or even ward rotations in EM dept as it is not considered an independent specialty here yet and usually is a combo of gen.med and gen.surgery and other dept. called in emergency from time to time. i wish to appear for USMLE in future and hopefully, pursue a career in EM. can someone plz guide me abt:
1/ what are the min. scores required that can help you get in EM residency?
2/ other than mle scores, what else can increase one's chances of getting into EM residency?
3/ what are some good residency programs to apply for an IMG to pursue EM?
4/ and if one wants to do electives in EM dept in a hospital in States, is it possible? are they too busy to help students? and what are the requirements for it?
I've zero clue abt this field requirements as its not an independent field here and i can't find ppl who can help me with EM , leave alone MLE wise.
