A Must See Movie for Dentists: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory

I have a habit of checking out cartoons and other movies which target kiddie audiences. 🙂 I am not embarassed by it either. 🙄 It's healthy to keep in touch with one's " inner child "! 😀

I just saw "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory", Tim Burton's ingenius rendition of the book by the same title written by Roald Dahl. I have to admit that it didn't hurt that Johnny Depp was starring in the movie either as he is one of my favorite actors. 😍 Quirky and interesting, but still one my fav actors! 🙂 He is definitely one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood! The special effects were awesome and the music was catchy and funny too ! 👍

The story line has interesting ways of teaching kids important moral values. It's a good family type movie but it is amusing for dentists too! There are a few references to dentists in the movie which really made me chuckle. I won't give them away as it would ruin the fun. So go and watch it!

Has anyone else seen the movie? Feedback?

saw it and loved it. if you are expecting a remake of the original, then you probably won't like it. but overall the movie is great... especially the sideplot with the dentist-father. it's worth the time...

I didn't see the original but I don't see how you CANNOT 🙄 like this film even as an adult. Aside my friends, I was in a theater whose audience consisted mostly of teens and even kids but I laughed the LOUDEST and don't feel ashamed about it either. 🙄 Especially the song and dance sequences with those ompaloompa caracters Laughter is good medicine (Dr Patch Adams motto) ! 👍

Yes, unlike most actors in Hollywood, 👎 Depp doesn't play a "stereotypical role" for EVERY movie he makes. He actually has talent ! I thought I had seen just about every Johnny Depp film out there until I went by the video store last week and came across "Cry Baby" (1980s)- 2005 director's cut. It's a spoof dealing with the 50s. It is so stupid it's funny and I loved it! Depp was especially HOT stuff in "Don Juan de Marco" 😍 -ooo la la ! I believe there is going to be a sequel to "The Pirates of the Caribbean" , which of course, I will definitely see!

It sounds like you definitely...umm..."appreciate" Johnny Depp. I myself have been enjoying the "talents" of the guy that plays the new character "Anders" on Battlestar Galactica...oh yeah. 😉

I loved it so much I changed my avatar to Willy a few weeks ago! The more I quote it, the more I laugh! Oh my goodness! 😀 It was not what I expected, which made it better, and I did really like the dentist sequences. Now I sound like an advertisement. Oh well.

Yes, Depp must be quite the father. 🙄 I LOVED him as the fatherly type figure in "Finding Neverland" (that was a very good movie too), and just by coincidence, the kid that plays Peter in that movie, stars as Charlie in "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory". That child actor is extremely talented too 👍

Yes, it really blew my mind too ! It exceeded my expectations. I think it will at least be nominated in the Oscars for the special effects and the musical score categories 👍
