Do any of you guys know what a typical neurosurgeon's operating schedule looks like, like what percent of their time is spent doing spine vs. vascular vs. tumor, etc. Is there a difference in this break up between academic and private practice? Input would be greatly appreciated.

I get the impression that most neurosurgeons spend most of their time doing spine procedures (Laminectomies, Discetomies, etc.) Is this true for the most part?

Spine was the bread and butter of the private practive neurosurgeon I have spent time with. A lot of fusion & fixation procedures, discectomies, etc.
