hey are you sure of that i asked them too wasn't like this they said i can retake it after the 90 days of exam before the end of this year plz confirm!!!!

this is whts written in candidate guide09 .

You may apply for reexamination at any time. However, notification of eligibility will not be sent to the Prometric Contact Center until at least 85 days have lapsed from the last attempt. When the notification of eligibility has been sent to Prometric, an e-mail (or letter via U.S. mail if no e-mail address is on file) will be sent to the candidate instructing him/her to call the Prometric Contact Center at 800.688.5804 to schedule an examination appointment. A minimum of 90 days must separate a candidate’s reexaminations on the NBDE Part I.

and criteria is just to apply nd register with ada before this year ends...

but you too should mail them it gonna confirm all......

.this is the mail i got....

You should submit your application before December 25, 2009. You will be able to test again next year. We will not accept application after December 25, 2009 for candidates that want to get higher scores on their exams.

Thanks for the updates, but say,if the exam is taken in nov and God forbid but one needs to re-take , does the rule apply ? of what i know, its 85-90 days of wait period before one can apply/register for re-take , one cant re-take right ?

@ truthseekr

c as far as i have understood we can retake but register b4 25dec....

but it would be wise if you mail the person handling ur file at ada....the more number of times we confirm from thm better for us....

They sent same email to me that we can retake but register before jan 2010. Now I have 1 more doubt as I registered for my part2 in sep. 2009, and to get registered for part1, do i need gap of 3months.Pls let me know.

I have asked ADA, a lady said I can retake it as long as I submitted my application before Dec 31,2009. I don't know why you got the answer for Dec 25. does it mean if I take the exam on Dec 24,(well,or Dec 23, if possible), then submit my appli for retaking exam on-line on Dec 25, so I can still have a chance to retake it?

I don't wanna take risks giving my exam in DEc without confirmative answer. hope more people ask, then we all get benifits.

yes exactly this is what needs to be done lot of ppl mailing them....
so that we may not be at any risk or dilemma!

Just as a warning for those who failed either part 1 or 2: they say that they will send you an e-mail notifying you of your eligibility and that sometimes may NOT be the case. I didn't get ANY e-mail at all and I called them after the 90 days and they said that an e-mail was sent to me the week prior or so and that is a LIE!! Just beware and count those 85 days and call them on THAT day if you didn't get your e-mail, just stay on their @##!!

aww so does this mean our fee will go waste!!

did this happen with you or latr they send you the email?? or and after how many days after exam you registered your exam please reply...so that we ppl ovr here can accordingly take exam date to be on safer side....

This is interesting, but I could not find an official statement from JCNDE that mentions this.

So hypothetically speaking, if someone took the test prior to dec 2009, and made plans to re-take it in the future (post dec 2009), they must pay and register for the re-take by dec 2009?

I guess JCNDE is getting bored and grabbing ideas from thin air... can you provide official source/link for this rule? I know few friends who are not aware of this, and would be screwed if the deadline passed without their knowledge! 🙂

sorry, I should have clarified, this warning is for those who FAILED the exam and they have to wait 90 days to retake. You are supposed to get an e-mail after 85 days in order to call prometric to schedule your test, but when I failed my exam the first time, they didn't send me an e-mail. Some classmates who failed also had already gotten an e-mail and scheduled their exam, but I never got one, that's what I meant.

hey..
I just wondering if i take part I in nov second week 2009 and if i am not satisfied with the score, can i retake the exam in 2010?if we should submit our application fees before december 2009??
Thank you...

This is the mail i got...
Starting in 2010 candidates who have passed an examination will no longer be eligible to apply for re-examination. If an application is submitted in 2009 the candidate will have a 12 month window in which the examination may be taken starting the day the application is processed.

Could someone clarify:
if I applied and was approved to take Part I in October of 2009 and plan on taking the test in January 2010, will I be able to retake the exam if I'm not satisfied with the score, regardless if I pass or fail?
Or should I hurry up and take the exam in 2009 so I still have the option to retake it either way in 2010?
Thank you!

Ok guys, just to prove it: Tomorrow will be 90 days since I failed my exam and I should have already received an e-mail days ago to call prometric to schedule my test. Those bast*#% messed me up again!!

hi did anyone who gave nbde part 1 in oct nd applied for retake got any feedback from ada!??😕...

I read online @ ada.org

How long do I have to wait to retest?
You must wait 90 days between examination attempts. National Board candidates who have failed NBDE Part I three times must wait 12 months before retesting. Please refer to the Candidate Guide for specific details. Beginning January 2010, a candidate who has received a passing score may not retest unless he or she provides evidence that he or she must retest for purposes of licensure.

But If I will have that oportunity I LL DO,
