Single Specialty Gastroenterology group of 2, growing to 4,is looking to hire their own Pathology physician to handle the Pathology for the group and the 2 surgery centers and labs that they own, located just North of Orlando, Fl.
Schedule is open and flexible as this would be a new position and they would take input from the prospective physician.
You would be employed by the group, with a competitive starting salary , health , malpractice, relo, 3 weeks vaca and CME…..
This group owns the 2 labs you would work in (these are the labs for the 2 surgery centers they own). They want their own Pathologist for the labs.
They are thinking 3 days at one and 2 at the other. The labs are located 35 and 70 miles North or Orlando . You can live wherever you want that would be most acceptable and most convenient for you..

Wow. I can live whereever I want that is acceptable to me? Thats fantastic! What a perk (sarcasm). I wonder how much these guys consider competitive salary for only three weeks vacation? They must be making mad bank with the surgery centers.

There is something fishy about this ad. Rampant typos and grammatical errors, several different fonts, and it was sent over Skype? I smell a rat, and not only because the potential employers are vermin.

I called the recruiter. It is legit. I asked about salary. He wouldn't say until I sent in my cv and interviewed which I'll never do.

But before you claim these people as vermin. If you had outpatient gi or derm or prostate biopsies and were billing for the tc on them (which means 70 at least by Medicare rates) would you give all that money to the Histo techs making the slides. Hell no you wouldn't.

So why the **** should the gastros pay us that much. They are the ones that got the tissue. Why the he'll shouldn't they pay us ten bucks per biopsy when they are billing at least 100. That is how businesses work. It is what happens to factory workers all day long.

Pathology has been commoditized and it is mostly due to greedy ass private practice pathologists. They have ruined the profession for all u young ens.

I can't imagine all the unnecessary biopsies that these clinicians take to make profit! Every mucosal fold, let's biopsy it!

Yes you would think insurers would understand that and not contract with them, but they do.

Wait a minute if these guys are paying well, I think it is a decent gig for someone interested in GI. The question is how much would it take for you to work for them with only 3 weeks of vacation. For me, i think at least 300-400K on top of the benefits they mentioned. The question is are they willing to pay that much or can they find a sucker for less?

I wonder how long until this position is filled? I would guess relatively quick considering the location.
