A Q about transcripts....

Ok, I think this is a silly question. But I guess I would fel even stupider if I don't ask and it turns out I messed myself up!

Basically, schools have a transcript deadline. Does this mean that I need to send in transcripts before they review my application? Or are transcripts only needed AFTER acceptance?

I have seen some schools specify that transcripts only must be sent if accepted, but I only saw this from a few schools...
