For people who have filled out a few of these, did any/many schools ask if you were a reapplicant who had turned down an allo acceptance in a prior cycle?

Doesn't apply to me, just trying to get a feel for it.

There is a section in your primary AMCAS about this (explanation of reapplication) directly. Most of my secondaries asked "have you applied to X school of medicine before?" as well.

Can you (or anyone) specifically recall what questions are asked about RE reapplicants?

In those secondaries, they are asking if you have applied to their med school, right? That is understandable...

But is anybody asking "are you a reapplicant who turned down an acceptance?"

Nothing seems to come to mind in terms of an explicit question about any past acceptances. Though I say that as someone who was not in that position myself.

Just for you, flip26, I went through my secondaries folder on my flash drive, and based on the completed secondary PDFs that I have (which is not all of the schools I applied to), I found the ones that do ask some kind of question related to what you're asking.

Albert Einstein: asks if you have applied previously to medical school at all, and also asks you to list all of the schools you've applied to in the past (wtf).
Columbia: asks if you've applied to P&S before and when. Also wants to know if you are sending new/updated recommendations.
Jefferson: asks if you've applied previously, and when.
Mount Sinai: Asks if you've applied to other med schools in past years, and if you've also applied to MSSM, asks for an explanation about it.
Penn State: Asks if you applied to PSU before (if yes, when, and did you get an interview? Also, asks how your qualifications have changed since then), asks if you've applied in the past to OTHER schools (when and how your qualifications have changed since then) AND also asks if you have MATRICULATED at any medical or professional school (if yes, provide name of institution, years attended and degree).
USC Keck: asks if you are reapplying to medical school (y/n), and asks if you are reapplying to Keck (y/n)
Yale: Asks if you've applied to Yale before, and if yes, what year.

Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect.

To elaborate on what RoadRunner said, I seem to remember most schools asking something along the line of "Have you applied here before? If so, when?" As you can see, some of them require additional information if you're a reapplicant such as another essay or rec letter or something.

First, thanks.

That makes sense. There are a couple of posters on another thread claiming they got asked by "most" schools about prior cycle acceptances that were turned down, and I had never heard of that...the thread is a discussion of the prudence of turning down apps to reapply, and one of the reasons given not to do it is that you get asked about it, which doesn't sound correct based on everything I have heard or read.

From the viewpoint regarding secondaries, yeah, that seems to be the case.

I don't know whether the pertinent information is in the AMCAS system, though.. at least, I would speculate that having that info keyed to your AMCAS ID # would be a very easy thing to do.
