So what do secondaries for med school consist of? I was under the impression it was just additional essays. But I have a friend who applied to pharmacy schools this last cycle, and in addition to essay prompts, her secondaries required her to re-enter all of her courses and grades and other information that she already submitted with her primary application. My question is, for med schools, do the secondaries require you to re-enter this kind of information? It seemed so ridiculous for her to type out all of that information again and again.

They're all different. A few require you to put in your courses again. Some want multiple essays. Some schools don't have secondaries.

Most of them just ask for additional essays or prompts. Of course secondaries with no questions are the best ones.

A lot of secondaries make you enter stuff that's already on AMCAS and upload a picture. Mostly science courses. Some have a lot of essays, some have none - some even ask for high school rank or ACT/SAT score.

Almost anything is fair game. Most of them are just essays and a small amount of information.

Seriously?? :scared: I didn't even take the ACT or SAT since I was a community college transfer student... plus I was kind of a slacker in high school so I wouldn't want them to see my class rank!!! But I completely turned it around in college and graduated with a gpa >3.9... why would they care about how you did in high school? Do you know which schools ask for that kind of information?

It really doesn't matter, I would think - just some internal use, probably.

I remember Baylor asked me for ACT score and high school rank and VCU asked for SAT/ACT score.

Why is that? Do they not have your primaries to refer to?

Some of them list their school specific course requirements and have you enter each course that satisfies the particular requirement.
