I'm currently working on my application and I am wondering what I should put down for the hours/length of time for some of my volunteering work.
I did some abroad/local type volunteering work for VBS (bible camp) and also volunteered as a guest instructor/teacher at a university in China.
I'm not Chinese btw (Just mentioning since I speak like zero Chinese. It was really an amazing experience.)
The thing is that all those VBS/guest instructor volunteering works were done abroad or far far away from where I live and the time I actually spent there is about 2 weeks each.
However, to prepare for these events I had to meet up with my teams twice a week for 2~5 months (spent about 5hr/week so 40~100 hours).
Should I count these hours/time or should I just say 2 weeks since the time I spent actually teaching/ doing VBS was just 2 weeks?
Also, I wasn't really just a volunteer but more of a volunteering coordinator/planner etc. I had to set up stations, supervise 100+ elementary kids, teach 40+ undergrad students everyday full time and spend time with them from 8am to 11pm etc so I had TONS to prepare. I actually had to plan parts of the orientation for the volunteers and I don't want my ECs to feel like 'oh I just volunteered, went to weekly meetings listening to coordinators talk' because these actually took a lot of my time.
