I don't think anyone has asked this particular question yet, but correct me if I'm wrong. Can any of you who reapplied through AMCAS tell me if there's a section in your PRINTED report (the PDF file AMCAS provides) that says explicitly that you're a reapplicant?

(The reason I ask is that I'm not an AMCAS reapplicant, but I applied to an early decision program in my sophomore year and wasn't accepted, and I really hope med schools don't see me as a general reapplicant and assume I applied last year for matriculation this year because that simply isn't true. Anyway, nowhere on my app does it say "reapplicant" except for the "yes" next to that one particular school, so I just wanted to compare.)

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer! I really appreciate it! 🙂

Bump! Can anyone who reapplied this cycle (or any cycle) be kind enough to take a look at your own application and answer this? I would VERY grateful. Thank you!

I'm a re-applicant. From what I remember, I didn't see any note about being a re-applicant on my AMCAS, online or offline (well, online I had to mark if I've applied to school XYZ previously).

But when I attended an interview for school X (which I have never applied to previously), I got asked by both interviewers about why I think I didn't get in last time... so somehow it seems that the schools can see that you are "reapplying", even if you didn't apply to that particular school before!

I think most schools just make you list if you are a reapplicant on their secondary applications.

For me, I didn't note anything on that particular school's secondary application. On the AMCAS, I marked that I had not applied to this school in the previous cycle... So I was actually a bit surprised during the interview when they asked about my re-applicant status.

Yeah, if you have ever submitted an AMCAS application in any previous cycle, every school that you apply to in subsequent cycles is notified that you are a re-applicant. I'm not sure about OP's particular circumstance, but I know that in the general case, they will always know even if you didn't apply to that particular school previously. AMCAS marks you as a "general re-applicant" even if you apply to an entirely new set of schools.
