A question for those accepted at COLUMBIA, especially the ladies!

I have an interview their soon and it is definitely my first choice! I wanted to ask you guys if you could give me any tips on the interview process at Columbia. The statistic that only 25% of the interviewees get accepted scares me a little...I know that that number is higher because many people who get accepted end up choosing their state school but still, but 25% is 25%

Anyway, if you have interviewed and haven't heard back yet, I understand your not wanting to share any information. But if you are already accepted, help a girl out! 😍

Also, for the ladies, I was wondering how the other female applicants were dressed? I know the standard interview dress code but I tend to dress a little provocative for a conservative field like dentistry. Not like cleavage or anything but I like to wear clothes that are quite fitted and I have to wear my Jimmy Choos...would this be bad?

I went to columbia on sept, and it's not that stressful. The interview asked question like "why dentistry" and "why columbia?" "what's ur habbits" "what kind of movie you like?" (I told him that I love to see movies...) The campus tour was crowdy, but they said the clinic will be re-contructed. Bring books to read, because it's super boring waiting for other 2 groups of ppl to finish the interview...I wore black suit...(almost everyone wore in black suit)..Good luck on ur interview day ^^

Not an expert or anything...but I don't think anyone will be looking at what shoes you're wearing. Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in, as long as you think its professional.

i actually wore them to my columbia interview. anyways.... if you think you're dressed inappropriately, then you probably are. just wear what you feel classy, and professional in. spunky but, tasteful is a great way to be memorable!!!

the interview was really laid back. standard questions like why dentistry, why our school, what do you to relax, talked about some extracurricular stuff i do, talked about marathons... my faculty member was awesome and had a great sense of humor, but i have heard about ppl getting grilled.... i think it just depends on who you get.

anyways - - good luck. and im glad to finally meet someone who shares my obsession with choo.

no not a CT resident. I'm from Chicago!!! i will definitely miss my big city - so i plan on doing mucho shopping in NY... it's only like an hour and 20 min train ride away. We can def still be fabulous Choo buddies! LOL

just don't expect it to be as relaxed as people say..make sure you go over most of the questions you see on the interview feedback. goodluck😀

OK.. finally some feedback... It really will depend on your interviewer. Some people had a very conversational interview, while mine was more question and answer. Know your file well and be prepared to talk about experiences you had like leadership or research.
