A question from a PD to me

My answer (which I could not have generated as a med student):
I always knew there was something more. Not specific as to what that more was, but that in being a doctor and interacting with patients and staff and teams, there is something more going on. And that more is important. And I wanted to explore the more, not run away from it by pretending there is less.

Has anybody here heard what kind of cancer Alan Rickman and David Bowie had? I'm interested in whether it was due to lifestyle choices like smoking or not. Every article I've seen just says "cancer." I understand the families may want privacy, but my patients sometimes ask if anybody knows.

I heard Bowie was live CA, and someone said that Alan Rickman was a smoker at lunch today. Both were 69.

I am greatly saddened by both of their losses. I had a huge crush on the Goblin King as a kid.

I take heart from the fact that Patrick Stewart is going to live forever. He's married to someone younger than I am. He has to.

I saw Patrick Stewart in DC once a long time ago. He was very pleasant and didn't mind chatting with us. He did decline a picture request, but he did so in the nicest way. About an hour later, we saw Bill Clinton drive by in the last limo with his window down and his arm hanging out. I should have bought a lottery ticket because I can't think of any other celeb. sightings I have ever had.
