During a working side movement (right or left) of the mandible:
the mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first molar passes through the lingual groove of the mandibular first molar, and
the mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary second molar passes through the facial groove of the mandibulat second molar

why first molar passes through the lingual groove while the second molar passes through the facial groove? I am so confused, can somebody explain it for me. Thanks a lot.

Are you sure that's not a misprint? It doesn't make sense.

Then what is the right answer?
both teeth pass through lingual groove or facial groove?
Thanks
