I read in BRS that: in the colon, H2O permeability is much lower than small intestine, and feces may be hypertonic!!!!!!!!
It should be hypotonic??

If your feces were hypotonic I doubt they would be solid.

The job of the colon is just to get some of the leftover water, its job isn't primarily to absorb water. SI is the big site of water absorption b/c that is where most of the electrolytes are absorbed, water just follows

I was confused with water permeability & forgot the electrolytes

im confused... if water permeability is low compared to electrolyte permeability, you would expect hypotonic, if anything.

Is the implication that secretion of electrolytes can outpace reabsorption?
