Do the UWSAs come with extended feedback like the NBMEs, and tell you which areas you are weak?

It is just like UWORLD. You get explanations for every single question (so thats 184 questions uworld like questions with explanations!) That is a big plus for me when you do UWSA, because you won't have to go searching for answers like you would with NBMEs.

UWorld's full of ****, no offense to them.

They curtail their QBank at a length of 2145 questions, and then they charge you extra for their biostats package (which is just additional questions, minus the good explanations), as well as for the UWSAs, which are "just like UWorld." That's not to mention, the QBank severely lacks in the biostats department, so it's almost as though they removed a percentage of that subject from the actual QBank just so they could charge people for the external package.

Okay, but at the end of the exam, does it say how well you scored in each of the subjects and tell you where to focus on for the remainder of the study period like the NBME does?

Whoa, they do? Why doesn't anyone else mention about these things! I did not know the existence of this Biostatistics & Epidemiology review package until now. Thanks, I owe you one.

I think that's because people are so caught up with idealizing UWorld for being the superior-quality product, that they don't care about paying more for its services. In actuality though, it's really f'ng expensive.

👍
good observation.

Is the additional biostats package helpful?

I would do it just because it carries the UWorld name, and I did happen to learn like two new things from it.

However I can say that its quality is poor compared to the QBank itself, and on my end, I felt it was generally a waste of time. By all means, this has nothing to do with the questions in the package; doing more questions is always helpful. The quality is poor because they give you mini-sets of 3-6 questions, and then follow them up with a page of vague, general information about all of them collectively, rather than actually dissecting apart each answer choice within each independent question. I think they just got lazy and wanted to make more money. Two thumbs down to it quite honestly.
