UCLA vs Arizona

I"m just curious - if any of you had gotten into both of these schools, which do you think you'd choose? Try as best as possible to exclude things like weather, etc. The reason I ask is a decision between these two seems tough.

Arizona had probably the nicest faculty i've seen, new facility, and a the appearance of a strong clinical program that should train one to become a good general dentist. I'm just not sure about the their newness of the school... and i'm curious as to how they will use teachers in clinical setting during years 3/4.

UCLA on the other hand also had fairly nice facilities and an excellent track record of high board scores. I still can't help being concerned about the rumored lack of patients though. How can one become a good dentist without patients?

If any of you know enough about the two schools to give some insight i'd greatly appreciate it. It's always good to get other opinions so something big isn't overlooked.

From your signature you also got into OHSU, what is wrong with OHSU that you do not even consider them?
If betwen UCLA and Arizona, I would choose UCLA, no doubt! Arizona is great but it is too new. UCLA has great reputation for the past years a

Oh i'm considering OHSU, it's more for this question. Their funding issue is a bit scary though...

Well, if you are an instate student at OHSU, then the issue of funding should be scary for you (for me right now). They plan to raise the in-state tuition equal to the out-state tuition. If you are an out-state, you shouldn't be worried too much. I don't think they will raise the out-state significantly higher than the already exisiting out-state tuition (of course maybe just a few thousands increase). So, don't let the funding issue scare you. Also, nothing is finalized yet! The Governor of Oregon proposed the budget cut and has not yet finalized anything. Who knows, thing will change around. UCLA and OHSU are great schools with great reputation. AZ is too new, but i am sure it will be great in the future.
I realize that when I attend a school that already has a reputation and its program is already in place for many years, I feel more secured! That is my 2cents.

I'll join you at Arizona. The difference in tuition between UCLA and Arizona is not that much. You probably could make it up through the cheaper cost of living in AZ. Being close to family is also a plus. Smaller class size is definitely a bonus. Well, I'm not the one who has to decide between UCLA and ASDOH, but good luck!
