That's pretty crazy, but I must say he's a little bit strange. 😀

Talk about a great *albeit unbelievable in the interviewer's eyes* behavioral interview anecdote!

are we sure that shows good judgement?! i guess a leg wound is probably not fatal but still... 😱:laugh::laugh:

thanks for posting-- that was hilarious.

& then get into half the schools they apply to because, well, they're dudes.).
I must not be checking the 'Male' box hard enough...

It's hard to tell whether he was THAT determined to get the job at the vet hospital or whether he was just thickheaded. Either way, I wish the article said whether or not he got the job 🙂

I can't be sure I would have done the same thing as the kid...

Am I the only one concerned that this 16 y/o wasn't phased enough about being stabbed, that he was able to make it through the interview.

I remember one time i was almost mugged, scared the **** out me, heart was racing a mile a minute, and I was on an adrenaline high for the entire night. I couldn't have ordered a cup of coffee much less calmly handled an interview.

I'd be concerned about the mindset of anyone who could remain so calm after such an incident (or perhaps about the lifestyle of someone who is stabbed enough where it can be easily shrugged off).

But your right about it being one hell of a story.

I think it has to do with where the kid grew up.
If it was a place where stabbings occur more often than he'd like, he would learn to mask the fear.
His heart may have been racing, and he may have been freaked out, but he still presented himself in a calm way.

I think, I'd want a person that could stay calm in a crisis. It was still stupid not to call and reschedule.

Really?? :wow: I stand corrected. But just to make sure--maybe double-check that male box next time if you don't make it in this time. 😉

Man, I am NEVER going to get a job...

I just read the story to my wife and she said she is willing to stab me before my interview sunday morning... lol wish me luck (both with the stabbing and the interview)

🤣Aw how sweet...

:luck:

People handle that kind of situation differently. He might have appeared calm because he was in shock too much to really register what was going on. There's been a couple of times where I've been injured badly enough to go to the hospital but it was other people who made me go. I would tell them it wasn't that bad and didn't hurt, but then after I had been in the minor emergency room for a while it started to sink in.

I think I would have rescheduled the interview because I would be afraid of not looking "presentable."

Just make sure it's only a flesh wound.

Images of Monty Python swimming in my brain.😉

Haha! I love Monty Python! I have heard they have shirts out with that knight and a caption saying "It's only a flesh wound!" Such a random movie-those British people have a weird sense of humor 🙂.

He may just not have had any previous vet experience and there was no way he was going to miss that interview.

Did I miss something? Isn't anyone concerned about WHY he was stabbed? I mean, usually you're not just sipping coffee at starbucks and someone runs in and stabs you. What was HE doing when he got stabbed? Saving someone's life? Getting in a fight? Stealing? I don't think it was mentioned, but my biggest concern would be WHY.
If he can pull that interview off calmly, then I'd say he'd deal AmAzInGlY with emergencies!

I think the answers to your questions are all relative to the neighborhood it happened in.
