A girl I went to HS with just graduated from Optometry school and I saw that she received a hood... Do DPT gradutes receive hoods much like other docotorate programs?

I thought the hoods were reserved for PhDs, but after seeing my former classmate with one, now I'm wondering!

I know it's silly, but it still would be pretty cool to get a hood at graduation! 😉

most DPT programs hood, a hood represents receiving a doctorate regardless if it's physical therapy optometry philopshy ect...

Yep! We get hoods because we are getting our Doctorates! I was really excited to see the DPT graduates at my school's Commencement last week. Each school has a color inside their hood that represents the degree they will be receiving, the DPTs get teal at my school. 🙂 Not sure about other schools, but we also get velvet 8 cornered tams with gold tassels and three velvet chevrons on each sleeve.
