What is the valence configuration for an element in the following groups?

Group VA is S2P3
Group IIIA is S2P1

what about Group VB and VIB and why?

i'm to lazy to look for a periodic table but those are the transition metals. Valence electrons for transition metals are s#d# since they are the outermost electrons. hope this helped.
