A sneaky way to find out if you passed COMLEX 2

Hey guys,

I recently took COMLEX 2 (about four weeks ago) and heard that you can find out if you passed by going to the NBOME website and seeing if it has an "approved" status for step 2 CE. I heard that if you see, "approved" that means you have passed because it would otherwise say "reschedule date." Mine says approved but it's still willing to take my credit card info 🙄

I think I did well but I would just like to know that I made it through that enless ambiguity.

Anyone have more info about this?

But the approved has been there since I scheduled the exam last summer. Why would it change just because I took the exam? I would still technically be approved.

I feel like this is untrue. Mine said scheduled until the day after I took the test, at which point it said approved. I seriously doubt that it had been scored by then. I'm still waiting. But I HOPE its true!!

That is a funny idea.

I called the NBOME yesterday because I saw the "approved" title next to my name instead of "exam taken" or something to that nature. They told me that the system will reset when they enter your scores. Therefore, the "approved" is the same "approved" they listed before you took the exam.

Still, even though I would almost bet my life that I passed the exam; part of me wants to believe you.

Scratch that idea...the same person that told me that an "approved" means you passed called me yesterday in tears because she failed the exam. Whoooops. Sorry for the letdown. I felt better when I thought it was true. Hopefully the Oct. 3rd scores will be back soon. Who knows.

The NBOME told me that the Oct 3 results would be available in mid November.

Why is it now, 3.5 years later, that you are promoting COMBANK so heavily? It was just started recently....by an anesthesia resident like yourself 😴

Your ability to take COMLEX II is approved through your Deans office. It is pretty much automatic that they approve you once you pass part 1.
If you see approved on the NBOME website that only means you are approved by your Dean's office not that you passed the exam, as far as part 2 is concerned.
Part 3 is approved automatically after part 2 CE and PE is passed since it is not a requirement to graduate med school.
I hope this helps since I hate to see nonsensical information put up for fellow and upcoming docs to reference.
You may wonder how I know all this ... I asked my Dean when I was a medical student. It was that easy.
