One recurring theme I've been hearing is that it require a steady hand to do a most of the ophthalmology operations. I've been realizing over the course of my surgery rotation that I don't seem to have that steady of a hand, which is something I should have probably figured out a long time ago since my handwriting looks like that of a ******ed two year old. Are there any ways to compensate for this, or will I inevitably not be very good at ophthalmologic operations?

There's always a non-surgical future for you... neuro-op?

I've heard that taking beta-blockers help to calm "nerves" before surgery. Some physicians have pursued this route.

However, the best thing to do is practice.. practice... and practice some more.
