I was wondering if its possible for webmasters/site managers to categorize threads especially those that are no longer active.

I've only been a member of SDN for a couple of weeks or so but I've seen questions being asked which have been quite fully discussed on an earlier thread. However because there are so many threads its often quite difficult/daunting to find the earlier thread and refer the questioner (??) to it.

I'm sure you'll all agree with me that there is a wealth of information on this forum and I think having a categorized archive will facilitate user experience and enhance the help that can be given immensely.

Cheers.

I guess it would be possible, though that would be a lot of work to pull off. I can certainly see the usefulness of such a feature, however I know I'm going to hear from the SDN gods that the search function is working just fine. This was part of my intention with my sticky thread up at the top of the forum, though I haven't updated it with enough questions. I just returned from vacation and I have been, well, ugh, busy busy busy.

Still, between the search function and other MSTP websites, there's a wealth of information to be mined. Yeah, there are alot of duplicates, just a fact of life 🙂

I agree with Neuronix. The search function will help you a lot.

We do already categorize by having the separate forums...and you can search within a single forum if you wish.

and welcome to SDN! 🙂

I guess I just have to learn to use the search button better.

Thanks
