I have always wanted to work on a project genetically engineering humans. Not gene therapy but full blown gene insertion into the zygote for the purpose of making super intelligent people.

Why shouldn't the US get a jump on other nations? I say spawn an army of superhumans here and now. This is actually incredibly exciting.

Boi, I tell you coming from the country that made the most far reaching attempts in this direction - even despite all moral considerations - I wouldn't recommend it.
Germany has devastated her human substance in just 12 years of applied eugenics. First of all, the subhumans the Germans sought to exterminate were actually part of their finest stock. After the removal of the "jewish element" German culture, science and society in general plummeted. Germany has not recovered in almost 60 years.
So what you consider momentarily as subhuman could be in fact of crucial importance for your society now or in the future. Human diversity is furthmore of great benefit to any society as it is the natural foundation of any division of work. You will have great problems to motivate your race of brainiacs to accomplish plain and stupid physical labor.
But then of course you could envision a society made up of interracial slavery. And this leads to the second and maybe even graver problem: Youre planning to disrupt the society by the introduction of utter violence. Youre planning to forcefully modify the genetical makeup and very identity of all the citizens. Do you really think most people would like to have children with foreign genes? You can have this already, but I am pretty sure no fertile parents rely on sperm or egg donation for their procreation.
So you will have to set this in motion by force. Either direct governmental force or by force due to the maniacs that hope to give their progeny a head-off start by inserting foreign genes into them voluntarily. Either way is an act of brutalization that will disrupt the very fabric of society. Here in Germany just such happened and it led to rise and implosion of one of the most instable political systems ever created. Just a mere 12 years the Drittes Reich made. Half of the time it was on war with all neighboring countries except Switzerland (we needed their neutrality for trade purposes). In 1945 the mad war of the Wehrmacht even turned against the German people themselves in form of the so called Nero-Befehl. The retreating Wehrmacht was ordered to devestate all German territories they moved through in order to doom the unworthy Germans that lost the war to starve and freeze to death. By the way the holocaust was just a prelude. The Führer envisioned the destruction and/or sterilization of all the lower classes in Germany after the end of the war. To this purpose all german citizens deemed Aryan were classified into four categories. One was deemed for immediate destruction, the second for immediate sterilization, the third for high taxation in order to slow their reproduction and only the fourth should be encouraged to breed.
That's exactly your vision, just before the introduction of genetical engineering.

If you cannot see, in your low intelligence I assume, where your line of thoughts lead to, I just can feel sorry for you. But even Plato knew that the root of each and every evil deed is stupidity itself.

Science is no good for itself. Science and technology serve and enrich the people, not the other way round. You fell victim to a common fallacy, idolatry. Making science your idol will not help you or anyone to successfully live a full life. And more you just can't expect to do with your time.
