Sup. (Actually, no salutation is as rude assup)

I have a bit of an issue relating to something I have been contemplating lately. I might decide to take a year off and perhaps goof off in a third world country...again. I am scheduled to take the MCAT the Spring 2014, but I want to hold off on applying just yet. I might decide to apply the spring of my 4th year after doing a few things. However, my advisor said something crazy like "well, you cannot apply for another 4 years if you do that."

Da fuq? I know better than to listen to advisor, but she seemed credible and could not help but wonder. I spent all morning looking at threads, but with no definite answer. Could someone help me?

Thanks guys.

Ask her what shes talking about. Doesn't really make sense to me tbh. She could be alluding to the new MCAT changes that are going to be put in place in 2015, but that doesn't really have any relevance since med schools will still be able to look at your old MCAT scores (and make better judgments off of it since they know what typical scores are like).

It is a good thing you posted because she was talking exclusively about Texas schools. It is some exclusion policy. I guess I will have to just go up there...

Still doesn't really make sense to me. I've never heard of a policy like this, but then again I never really spoke to my HPO advisors about my medical career path. I'd advise emailing her and asking for specifics. Good luck finding out what it is!
