I just quit my very good and well paying job in public health to begin studying full time for the MCAT in August (if I dont get off my waitlist before then).
Words of encouragement are welcomed.
I did the same thing (public health). However, I continued to work while I studied. I almost have my masters in public health, realized my career (or lack of) was going to go no where with just a masters, I wasn't going to have a job that would help people, so I got back to my dream of med school. LOVING my decision! Masters degree in public health = paper pusher. Congrats on your decision too.

Make yourself a schedule, take lots of practice tests, and focus on your weak areas. Come ask us in the subforum if you need help. You can do this.DCDAWG said:Well folks,

Yeah, I have a masters in Microbiology and Immunology- and ended up in a public health policy type job in DC. I enjoy it, but its not for me. I applied this cycle with my old MCAT scores from college, and got on some waitlists.
Im happy to be leaving this job and focusing completely on medical school now.
Thanks.

Good Luck! I bet you won't have any troubles with questions about epitopes 😉DCDAWG said:Yeah, I have a masters in Microbiology and Immunology- and ended up in a public health policy type job in DC. In all honesty, I wish I would have quit my job prior to starting to TPR course for the April 06 test. I couldn't keep up with all the material that they gave us. I would have had much more time to do practice problems and I think that I would have mastered the material better if I wouldn't have been working full time.
Best of luck! If I have to retake in August, I might quit my job too!

How well paying is this job? And are they looking for a replacement? 🙂
