P-value = the probability that you calculate a test statistic as extreme (or more extreme) as the your observation given the null hypothesis to be true.
Most people choose 0.05 a prior as the cut off for significance; that is, any p-value less than 0.05 is considered significant and we reject the null.

Null hypothesis = a hypothesis that is capable of being proven false.
