I was wondering what the general advice is to reach out to a couple of students on linkedin to ask about their experience at the school? I have an interview coming up at my top choice, and I would love to reach out (kindly) to ask if they'd be willing to share their experiences? if it's weird to ask.. I won't do it LOL.
I think it would be weird. On LinkedIn people usually accept messages only from members they already know.

Doesn't this school have some "student ambassadors" you could contact?

I think it's weird, but multiple people have told me they do it...I can't even imagine reaching out to someone I don't know on LinkedIn, my anxiety could never. I don't even accept messages from people I do know 😆

1. Attend interview.
2. At interview there will be current students who will provide contact info if you have any follow-up questions.
3. Contact those students if you have any follow-up questions.
4. Realize that if you are ever debating a move because it may be weird, it is almost certainly weird and should be avoided.

Agreed, definitely could be perceived as weird, although I dont think i'd mind if a prospective student reached out to me. You could check out the school specific thread to see if any current students are lurking there.

1) Check in our forums.
2) Everyone uses LinkedIn for different reasons. Some like getting cold messages, and others don't.
3) Admissions office should link you to ambassadors.
4) This is why you network before you apply. Many applying already made connections at recruitment events in the previous year or so.
