I think it would be weird. On LinkedIn people usually accept messages only from members they already know.I was wondering what the general advice is to reach out to a couple of students on linkedin to ask about their experience at the school? I have an interview coming up at my top choice, and I would love to reach out (kindly) to ask if they'd be willing to share their experiences? if it's weird to ask.. I won't do it LOL.
Doesn't this school have some "student ambassadors" you could contact?
1. Attend interview.
2. At interview there will be current students who will provide contact info if you have any follow-up questions.
3. Contact those students if you have any follow-up questions.
4. Realize that if you are ever debating a move because it may be weird, it is almost certainly weird and should be avoided.

2) Everyone uses LinkedIn for different reasons. Some like getting cold messages, and others don't.
3) Admissions office should link you to ambassadors.
4) This is why you network before you apply. Many applying already made connections at recruitment events in the previous year or so.
