AA in med

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think AA is based on wrong factors.

WOW Sorry but i can't read your mind, what is AA? Asian Americans?

AA should be based upon socioeconomic status, NEVER on race. Using race to justify admission decisions is reinforcing the perceived separation that racism advocates.

AA based on economics favors whites and asians because low income white and asain students still have higher gpa's and test scores than low income black, hispanic and native american students

Yo man honestly whats with you and this AA/racist/URM issues. It seems every post you have posted is either about these issues or related. Are you doing some research on these topics? Just wondering thats all.

It is because people are beginning to get anxious about getting into medical school....and when someone gets rejected the first thing on the mind for many ORM's is...."I wonder what factor race played in their decision?"...In other cases URM's new to this site naively ask (in an indirect manner) if they will benefit from being a URM or if they qualify as a URM (even when they know they qualify).... And SDN just happens to be an outlet for many to ask what is on their mind.

Now obviously this does not apply to everyone!
