Hey Guys..
I know im late...but i'm filling out my aacom and having some trouble

1) I was wondering how I should list my work experience.
On the website it says (Title or Description/Dates/Level of Responsibility), however should I list what I did in level of responsiblity), also should I list how many hours per week i worked.

2) I am having trouble with the 3000 characters limit for my personal statement....did you guys encouter this problem as well?

3) SO I have done research for 3 years...and participated in symposiums....should i list that under Question #15: List volunteer positions, internships, etc. (include dates): or
under Question #16: List honors and/or awards if applicable:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....and I would love to hear any suggestions from any of you guys.

Thanks so much
🙂 🙂 🙂

I would only really list work that was relevant to a healthcare field. Last year, I called and asked if I should include work that I did as a waiter, and they almost laughed at me. Don't bother with responsibilities; it won't fit in there anyway.

3000 characters sucks like a Hoover, but we all have to deal with it. Be succint(it was HARD for me!)

List research under Volunteer/Internship/etc.

What I did was write a personal statement, and then sort of pare it down to the highlights for the AACOMAS blurb.

Good luck, and SEND IT ASAP!!!!!!! Many of the interview spots are taken all the way through December, and it will likely take about 4 weeks for AACOMAS to get you all verified, and that's IF they already have all of your transcripts. Make sure you've got all of your LORs ready to go out the door the second your first secondary comes to you, which if you submit this week should be sometime in mid-late November. Send the secondaries the next day, and send them either Priority or Express. At this point in the cycle, your worst enemy is the clock and procrastination. Even if you overnight your apps, they won't be getting there until probably December, and by then the interview spots might be assigned through the beginning of the new year. Best of luck to you! :luck:
