AACOMAS Academic Update

I just printed off another transcript request form and had my updated transcript sent yesterday. I also manually updated my grades on my app. Any idea if we're supposed to do anything else? I thought there may be a form specifically for updates but haven't seen anything so I'm hoping it's enough.
 
^ I think you did everything correct by the instructions posted in the FAQ section of the AACOMAS app. I tried to go into mine today to update my summer courses but when I click on "update" nothing happens. So mine is being glitch-y at the moment...Shocker
 
I just got off the phone with someone from AACOMAS and it sounds like grade changes can't be made until they processes the transcript, and that takes at least 10 business days.

Yeah I am getting conflicting info from AACOMAS. I called earlier and She told me to go into my app, update it now, and have my transcript mailed out today. Seriously how can Liaison CAS be this incompetent in giving their reps all the same info

Mine was pretty glitchy too. Try reloading a couple times and be sure to give it some time to load. Mine pulled up all jumbled and after waiting a moment it loaded and I was able to update them. It's pretty frustrating and takes a few extra minutes but just give it some time. Even clicking into the box where you enter your grade took a extra few seconds. I'm really hoping it doesn't take too long to get updated because it was only 4 summer classes so I'll be a little ticked if it takes a month to get added. Good luck and I hope it works out for you guys. I'll try and update here if I hear anything from AACOMAS.
 
I clicked update. Went to "contact system administrator". But then got an email saying I successfully updated my grades and they are waiting on transcripts now. No need to contact AACOMAS. Anybody get the same email?

When did you update your grades? I did it yesterday but haven't received an email yet....I even double checked today and when I preview my transcript my grades are all correct and updated but still haven't heard anything from them.

Yeah, when I click on the little pen icon, the boxes for Credits, Grade, and CAS Grade are all greyed in and won't let me input anything...Frustrating
 
Sooooo here is my situation. Again another retake issue. So I submitted my application back in early May and listed the summer course I was taken as planned and properly listed the course it is suppose to replace. The summer course didn't end until early July so I would have to use the academic update to input the grade which in turn would replace the old grade...Well when I tried to use the academic update today, AACOMAS would only allow me to input the summer grade and not zero out the original old grade. So I called to see what the problem is...Lo and behold the rep tells me that the summer grade can't replace the old grade even though it is the same class at the same school...The reason being she said is that the the academic update is only allowed to input new grades and not replace old grades...

So this in turn turns into a hefty debate on the retake policy and such because not being allow to replace the old grade is in direct conflict with the whole entire point of DO grade replacement. The rep admitted that I did everything correctly but since I was already verified back in June that anything before the summer couldn't be changed. So essentially the old grade and new grade would average out instead of the new grade replacing the old grade. This averaging out would give my schools an Inaccurate gpa for my application. So after being put on hold several times and a hour later the rep took my phone number and said that one of the Higher Up Directors at AACOM was made aware of the issue by others calling in on this same thing so they are trying to change it...So stay tuned...again...

You should still call for sure and voice your concern on this matter, especially for the amount of money we pay into this service.


The more that call and let their voice be heard, the more likely there is a chance to get this changed quickly
 
So one of my professors failed to submit grades by the deadline and so, unknown to me, I had 'NGR' (No Grade Received) on my transcript next to that class. Upon verification and processing of my transcript I noticed the error, emailed AACOMAS, and requested my university to send another transcript. I received an update on my AACOMAS account stating that they had received and processed the second transcript, but it doesn't reflect on my app. 1) How do I fix this? 2) Could this NGR be seen negatively by schools?

This is similar to my problem.. I needed to replace a grade, but the rep simply told me I couldn't yet because the transcript was not received. Now I am seeing that the current ACCOMAS academic update protocol doesn't account for these situations.

Untrue. I specifically asked about this before I submitted my AACOMAS. This was the email I received back:

Thank you for contacting AACOMAS. The previous attempt should be marked with
the 5.0 credits and grade. During the academicupdate period, you will mark the
final attempt as repeated with the credit and grade. During the verification
process, we will Zero out the first attempt and factor only the final attempt
into your GPA. Please note that the course title and prefix must match the
previous for us to zero it out.

Please don't hesitate to contact AACOMAS support Team if you should have any
more questions.

My classes are not even the same "prefix/course title" as one was from a CC and the other from university. DO NOT trust the reps, they have no idea what they are talking about.

Anybody successfully have their academic update grades verified or in the process of being verified?

I have all my transcripts in, but it's not even showing the yellow "verifying" tab under my programs.

I'm having the same issue. I received the email yesterday notifying me that my transcript was received. That's it. Nothing else about verifying

If you go under "manage my programs" and then "program status" do you not see anything about "verifying"? I go that the moment my transcripts got their during the first verification, but it's not showing that now. I really hope they have a separate group of people doing the academic update so that it goes by quickly.
 
Does AACOMAS email you when they receive your updated transcripts? Or does the undergrad school you are sending your transcripts from email you?
 
Under my manage programs -> transcript download. I see my updated grades and gpa. But I have not received any "verified" email.

Are these updated grades that you submitted through the academic update period? Would you mind sharing when you submitted? I did mine September 1st, but still haven't gotten my grades verified.
 
Same question as IDK22.

Meaning, did you already have your grades and transcripts in before updating September 1st? or did you just barely get verified?

I sent my transcript Aug 16th or so and they said they received it August 31st. Submitted my changes midday September 1st. I have sent them an email about this recently but no answer yet.

Sorry, still confused. So your grades/gpa did get updated you just never got a verification email or your grades have not been updated yet?

To clarify: my grades are showing up on my application as entered during academic update, however GPAs have not been recalculated- is that the same with you?

EDIT: I'm an idiot. My GPA has NOT been changed yet on downloaded transcript. (I had a single class update and my GPA remained the same from it so I assumed it had changed. Sorry for the misunderstanding

@Poro no worries haha I did the same thing for a minute. As mentioned, you can go in and edit your transcript entry and that automatically changes the grades on your application. It does NOT change/update your GPA or mean AACOMAS has done anything on your app. I was super excited and thought everything was taken care of but only the letters for your grades change, not your GPA.

Haha no worries, I'm not as frustrated now since I submitted academic update midnight september 1st. I called AACOMAS a few times this week and they said that it will take a minimum of two weeks and a max of four. Hopefully its the former time, two weeks will be this Tuesday for me so I'll let you all know if it gets changed by then!

Yeah I'm sure hoping it's closer to two. Do you know if they have received your transcripts yet? I sent my transcripts (snail mail) and updated my grades August 31 so hopefully they'll be updated by the end of this week. I haven't heard anything on if they've received my transcripts though so that's the only thing I'm worried about. When I submitted primaries they were marked as received within like 5 days so I'm hoping they're just not saying anything while they update and receive things.

I sent my transcripts about two weeks prior to september 1st. It took them about 10 days to receive/process and yes, I did get an email notification that they were received/processed. Hopefully you hear something soon!
 
Weird, just got another notification from AACOMAS saying they received and processed my transcripts. Was already told this happened two weeks ago. Did this happen to anyone else? Hoping this doesn't set me back in the verification process.
 
So what I did: Late August I had my school send in my updated transcript showing my summer grades. September 1st I went into AACOMAS and updated my summer grades. Last Tuesday (Sept. 8th) I got a email from AACOMAS stating that they received my transcripts and it would be no more than 2 weeks for my application/gpas to updated.
 
I just got an email saying my transcripts had been received and processed (2 weeks and 2 days so the timing wasn't too bad) but when I went to check my apps on AACOMAS my grades were exactly the same as before and nothing had changed. Has anyone had their grades updated and actually seen changes to their app yet? I'm still waiting on hold on the phone with them right now so I'll see what they say. I was super excited when I saw they received my stuff and then really disappointed when nothing had changed....

I just spoke to them today. Expect at least two weeks minimum four weeks maximum from transcripts being processed until GPAs are recalculated.
 
I know they said 7-10 days between them receiving, processing your transcript and updating the GPA. But anyone have any updates on when exactly their GPA was updated? I have heard from other people that it was 3-4 days.

2 weeks is how long they told me from when they receive/process. took 2.5 to update gpa

So after 2 hours on hold.... a surly man told me that the updates were sent automatically to all schools about 2 weeks from submission or after the transcripts were verified, whichever is later. However, the application pdfs will not be updated until the end of this week or early next week.

/edit just now- i checked with a few schools, and it looks like there is a difference in how they view applications.
ATSU just informed me that my pdf app hasn't been updated
LECOM informed me they have my updated app from their online system

I'm not sure anyone knows what is going on....

So the general consensus is that using the academic update to replace old grades with retakes doesn't work? (they just average)

Just got off the phone with AACOMAS. They said the Academic Update can take between 4-6 weeks from the time they receive your new transcript. So I submitted my update on Sept 2nd, my transcript was received on Sept 8th. So I still have 3 weeks to wait (at the most).

It's not a matter of averaging grades, it's a matter of AACOMAS receiving and processing grade updates. It's not like they've decided to just average all of a sudden and screw everyone over. Once received, verified, and updated, old grades will be replaced with new ones. The problem is waiting for AACOMAS to get everything processed and entered.....

Ok icic. There were conflicting posts so I was unsure.

Btw I grew up in Ann Arbor. Miss it quite a bit.

Small world. I lived in Ypsilanti and then Ann Arbor. Went to a few wolverine games before moving down to Texas while still in HS
 
So my academic update got verified, but my application is complete at a few schools already. Do you think ADCOMs will automatically receive the updated gpa/grades or should I contact the school if it's already "under review" or "in committee"?
 
From the schools I've talked to it sounds like it's a good thing to email them and just let them know. Some schools have said they'd even go back and re-evaluate if they rejected you pre-updates.
